A phrase from the nineteenth-century German poet, Hölderlin, reads: “poetically, man dwells.” Perhaps Ben Pentreath succeeds in giving meaning to this phrase by way of his eponymous boutique in Bloomsbury. After all, just as the skilled poet betrays a love for words and the unwavering care for their arrangement, it is quite evident that this quaint, 3m x 3m shop does much of the same when it comes to the many things and “curiosities” that make up the English abode.
